Tarek Fahim, a very popular figure in the Egyptian startup ecosystem, is joining Endeavor Egypt’s Board of Directors, the organization announced in a statement today.
Tarek is the Managing Partner of Ednure Capital, a cross-border VC firm with investments in different international and regional startups including Careem, Wuzzuf, Boom Supersonic, and WaystoCap. He is also an IVLP Fellow, the US Department of State’s premier professional program for current and emerging international leaders.
Endeavor is a non-profit organization that support high-impact entrepreneurs around the world. Endeavor Egypt currently supports 43 high-impact entrepreneurs leading 27 companies. Many of these entrepreneurs are the founders of tech startups including Mai Medhat and Nihal Fares of Eventtus.
Tarek has previously advised and mentored different local and international startups and is still very active in the local entrepreneurial ecosystem. He is very active on the social media platform sharing his wisdom and thoughts with the young entrepreneurs. He has also founded a non-profit organization that helps youth with different hands-on development programs.
He has Engineering, Business, and Management degrees from Ain Shams University, the American University in Cairo and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
The board is currently chaired by Ayman Ismail, CEO of DMG, the Egyptian group with different engineering, real estate and hospitality businesses. Existing members of the board include Khaled Bichara, Managing Partner of Accelero Capital, Amr Shady, Executive Chairman of TA Telecom, Mohamed Azab, CEO of Seha Capital, and Amir Barsoum, CEO of Vezeeta.
