Souq.com has announced acquisition of Wing.ae, the Dubai-based delivery startup for businesses and individuals that links couriers companies and merchants. Founded by Muzaffar Karabaev last year, Wing.ae had earlier received its seed funding from Souq.com. It was before Souq.com was acquired by Amazon for $580 million.
Wing.ae provides different mobile based delivery solutions to merchants all across UAE. From handling small tasks like delivering envelopes to major major tasks which involve technologically robust delivery solutions, the startup does it all. It currently offers same and next day delivery for solutions for different merchants, Souq.com being one of them.

Mohammed Alabbar, the Emirati real-estate tycoon and founder of billion-dollar yet to be launched ecommerce venture Noon had last year acquired 16.5% stake in Aramex, one of the biggest courier companies of the region. Noon was announced last year with a promise of 20 million products and 3-hour delivery in UAE & Saudi but it’s still not open to public yet as the company is currently testing its private beta and plans to go live later this year.
