Dubai-based AI startup Qeen.ai has raised $10 million in what it says is one of the largest seed rounds in the MENA region to date. The round was led by Prosus Ventures, with participation from Wamda Capital, 10x Founders, and Dara Holdings, bringing the company’s total funding to $12 million. It is the first time Prosus is leading a seed round in the region.
Founded in 2023 by former Google and DeepMind colleagues Morteza Ibrahimi, Ahmad Khwileh, and Dina Alsamhan, Qeen.ai develops AI agents that autonomously execute e-commerce tasks such as content creation, marketing, and conversational sales.
The startup’s technology enables merchants to automate their e-commerce operations through domain-expert AI agents that optimize their performance based on observed user behavior. Since launching its Dynamic Content agent in Q2 2024, Qeen.ai has served over 15 million users and generated more than 1 million SKU descriptions, helping merchants achieve a 30 percent increase in sales.
Morteza Ibrahimi, Qeen.ai co-founder and CEO, said, “We are proud to have the backing of Prosus Ventures and our existing investors as we work towards our vision of becoming the go-to intelligent technology partner for e-commerce businesses. By building AI solutions that are both intuitive and accessible, we enable e-commerce businesses of all sizes to scale, innovate, and thrive.”
The fresh funds will be used to expand the platform’s capabilities, scale the team, and grow its customer base. The company plans to build on its existing autonomous content and marketing agents to address a broader range of challenges faced by online businesses.
Robin Voogd, Head of Middle East Investments at Prosus Ventures, said, “As one of the largest ecommerce and marketplace investors in the world, we’ve seen firsthand how AI agents are redefining the landscape of global marketplaces for online merchants. There’s a huge opportunity, and we believe and qeen.ai is well-placed to unlock this technology for merchants in an AI-first world.”
“The company has demonstrated an innovative approach to bringing AI to the e-commerce industry and is backed by an expert founding team. They will provide significant value to merchants focused on delivering a strong digital shopping experience across countries,” he added.
The investment comes as the MENA e-commerce market is projected to reach $50 billion in 2025, with Saudi Arabia and the UAE driving significant growth in the sector.
