Abu Dhabi’s Ovasave raises $1.2 million pre-seed to bring at-home fertility preservation and testing to Saudi

Abu Dhabi-headquartered fertility platform Ovasave has raised $1.2 million in pre-seed funding to expand its at-home hormone testing and egg freezing services into Saudi Arabia. The round was led by PlusVC, Annex Investments, and New York-based 25 Madison, with participation from UAE and Saudi angel investors.

Founded in 2023 by Majd Abu Zant and Torkia Mahloul, the healthcare startup offers at-home fertility testing kits that measure key hormones like AMH (Anti-Müllerian Hormone) to assess ovarian reserve, essentially how many eggs they have left, which is crucial for fertility planning and timing decisions around egg freezing. Users receive their results on a secure dashboard and can connect with fertility specialists for virtual consultations.

Ovasave has built a growing corporate benefits program, partnering with Aldar, Boston Consulting Group, and WeWork to offer fertility testing and support as employee benefits. The company also sells personalized supplements and is expanding into perimenopause and menopause care; the transitional period before menopause when hormone levels fluctuate.

The funding will support Ovasave’s Saudi expansion this summer and development of its mobile app, which will add menstrual cycle tracking and AI-driven treatment recommendations. The company recently screened over 500 women through a partnership with Merck Gulf.

The startup is also expanding into perimenopause and menopause care; stages that impact all women but remain largely underserved. These hormonal transitions can cause symptoms like irregular periods, mood swings, and hot flashes, yet often lack proper medical support.

“There is a critical need for timely intervention in women’s health, particularly around fertility and hormonal health,” said Torkia Mahloul, co-founder and CEO of Ovasave. “This funding marks a crucial step in our mission to disrupt women’s health and expand access to fertility and hormonal care across the region.”

The company’s product lineup includes comprehensive fertility and hormone testing panels, STD screening for 9 or 13 pathogens, and specialized perimenopause tests. Ovasave also offers science-backed supplements designed to support fertility, including prenatal vitamins with DHA and CoQ10 formulations for both men and women trying to conceive.

“Abu Dhabi’s focus on innovation, healthcare, and entrepreneurship has created a competitive environment for founders and investors alike,” noted Majd Abu Zant, co-founder of Ovasave. “As an Abu Dhabi-based startup supported by Hub71, Ovasave has benefited from a strong regulatory framework, access to capital, and proximity to regional decision-makers.”
