Justmop, a UAE-based on-demand cleaning services marketplace raises Series A funding

Justmop, a Dubai-based on-demand cleaning services marketplace has closed its Series A investment round, the company announced yesterday. The size of investment was not disclosed but the company said it’s total funding has now reached ‘more than a few million dollars’.

The latest investment round was led by VentureFriends, a Greece-based VC that has invested in different e-commerce, SaaS, Ad Tech and On-Demand Services startups in Europe and MENA. OAK Capital, a VC firm started by Turkish entrepreneur Nevzat Aydin who exited his food delivery startup Yemeksepeti to Delivery Hero for $589 million in 2015, and 500 Startups also participated in the round.

Co-founded by Ali Cagatay Ozcan and Kerem Kuyucu in 2014, Justmop had started from UAE and now has its services available in Qatar and Bahrain as well. The startup has made ‘more than 10 million in gross revenues until now and has achieved a 25 percent month-on-month growth rate for the last six months’.

Speaking about their future plans, Justmop’s Co-founder & CEO, Ali Cagatay Ozcan said, “Our aim is to obtain a tangible leverage in target markets and we will be depending on VentureFriends to guide us. This organization is replete with successful entrepreneurs who know what we need and when we need it. This dynamic helps us concentrate on the activities without getting bogged down by the paperwork and in this fashion market reach will be expanded in a systematic manner,”

Justmop claims to be the market leader in on-demand cleaning space in UAE and is currently in the process of exploring different other GCC countries including Saudi, Bahrain, and Kuwait for expansion.

The Justmop team have achieved remarkable growth over the last 1.5 years and with the latest financing round on track of having a presence in around 10 cities till end of 2018, thus cementing its leading position in the market.”

The services offered by the startup are available through their website and mobile applications for Android and iOS.

Matic, another Dubai-based on-demand cleaning startup that has big customer base in Saudi and Lebanese markets as well, had also closed its Series A round, raising $3 million from Middle East Venture Partners, one of the leading VCs of region.
