Homzmart, the Egyptian furniture ecommerce platform, has launched a standalone logistics platform focused on large and bulky shipments. The new company, called Lifters, aims to serve not only Homzmart’s own customers but also third-party businesses across Egypt.
The move is led by Homzmart’s co-founder and COO, Ibrahim Mohamed, who has deep experience in logistics. Before founding Homzmart with Mahmoud Ibrahim in 2019, Mohamed served as Director of Operations at Egyptian logistics startup Bosta and previously led logistics development for Jumia Egypt.
Mahmoud Ibrahim, Homzmart’s co-founder and CEO, announced the news in a LinkedIn post, calling it “a significant milestone” for the company after five years of investment in logistics infrastructure. “Lifters is more than just an extension of Homzmart; it’s our bold step toward serving not only our own operations but also other businesses across the market.”
Lifters positions itself as a tech-driven, end-to-end logistics provider specializing in large and bulky shipments. Its services cover the entire supply chain, including e-commerce warehousing and order fulfillment, first-mile and middle-mile operations, last-mile delivery, quality control, reverse logistics, and B2B supply chain solutions such as tailored 3PL services, and linehaul operations.
Homzmart has raised nearly $40 million in funding to date, including a $23 million pre-Series B round in 2022. Backed by STV, Nuwa Capital, Impact46, and Outlier Ventures, the Egyptian startup sells furniture, home appliances, and electronics in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, where it expanded in 2021.
