Dubai-based Crowd Analyzer raises $1.1 million for its Arabic-focused social media monitoring platform

Dubai-headquartered Crowd Analyzer has raised $1.1 million in pre Series A funding, Wamda reported today. The round was led by Wamda Capital and joined by Kuwait’s Arzan VC and Faith Capital, and Saudi’s Raed VC.

Founded in 2013 in Egypt by Ahmed Saad and Baha Galal, Crowd Analyzer is an Arabic-focused social media monitoring tool that analyzes content and conversations for sentiment and relevance. The startup uses proprietary machine learning, artificial intelligence and natural language processing to achieve this.

Crowd Analyzer uses groundbreaking technologies such as Proprietary Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing to get computers to be as linguistically proficient as humans.

It monitors all mentions of your brand in different Arabic dialects including Egyptian, Khaleeji (Gulf), Levantine and standard Arabic to help you understand which dialect is performing the best with up to 90% accuracy rate.

Apart from its product, Crowd Analyzer also offers different services including PR mapping, competitor benchmarking, custom tracking and ad hoc reporting, influencer marketing surveying, and brand health audit form its offices in Dubai and Cairo.

The startup has worked with some of the leading international and regional brands including with companies like Dubai Media Group, International Committee of the Red Cross, Expo 2020, Huawei, Souq.com, DHL and Uber in its portfolio.

Commenting on the ocassion, Ahmed Saad, the co-founder and CEO of Crowd Analzyer, said, “For three years, Crowd Analyzer has delivered actionable intelligence and data enabling world-class companies in the region to harness the power of social media.”

This latest round of funding will enable us to continue our growth in Saudi Arabia and allow us to explore further opportunities in the regional market,” he added.

The Egyptian startup is also known for publishing annual state of social media reports for the region, and supporting different leading regional and international events including World Government Summit, Cannes Lions and Dubai Lynx by setting up command center to monitor real time conversations about these events on social media.
