Kuwait-based quick commerce startup Circle has secured $6 million in Series A funding from a consortium of strategic investors, it announced today. The startup did not disclose the identity of the investors or provide any additional details.
Founded in 2020 by Altaf AlThekair, Circle offers grocery and daily essential deliveries in under 20 minutes through its mobile app and a network of tech-enabled dark stores and fulfillment centers. The company, which launched its dark store operations in mid-2023, claims to have grown its revenue sevenfold in Kuwait over the past two years.
“Securing this funding is a major milestone that propels us toward our vision of reshaping quick commerce in the MENA region,” said Altaf AlThekair, CEO of Circle. “Our growth story is rooted in our dedication to combining speed with purpose; empowering our local customers while maintaining the highest standards of convenience and reliability.”
Circle’s model is built to keep items in stock and get them to customers fast. It uses local warehouses, real-time inventory tracking, and efficient delivery routes to make online grocery shopping more reliable, noted a statement by the firm.
With the fresh capital, Circle aims to capitalize on the region’s fast-growing quick commerce market, which it estimates has a market potential of $100 billion. As part of its expansion strategy, the company plans to enter key MENA markets by early 2026, though it hasn’t disclosed specifics.
The Kuwaiti startup emphasizes that, unlike other players in the space, it prioritizes not just speed but also product quality and rider safety.
