Meet the iPhone X

Before Tim Cook concluded the event, he had one last surprise for the audience sitting in Steve Jobs Theatre at the newly built Apple Park, company’s new home. Apple’s CEO used the famous Steve Jobs’ signature remark ‘One more thing’ to reveal the Apple iPhone X at the end of event after announcing the new Apply Watch, Apple TV 4K, and iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.

Tim Cook announced the phone by saying, ““the biggest leap forward since the original iPhone.”

iPhone X (in which X refers to 10) is a stunningly beautiful phone with a 5.8-inch edge-to-edge super retina display, that supports resolution of upto 2,436 x 1,125 pixels with a pixel density of 458 PPI. The phone comes with glass front and back and is water and dust resistant.

Apple is killing the home button with iPhone X and all one has to do to wake up the screen is just tap anywhere on it. For going back to the home screen from any app, the users are supposed to just swipe up.

What’s perhaps one of the most interesting highlights of iPhone X is a new feature called Face ID. It lets one unlock their phone by just looking at it. The Face ID is powered by TrueDepth camera system made up of a dot projector, infrared camera and flood illuminator, and A11 Bionic chip to accurately map and recognize a face. Face ID apart from unlocking the phone can also be used for Apple Pay and to gain access to different secure apps.Apple claims that Face ID works even when one is wearing a hat or glasses. The feature has been designed to recognize one’s face regardless of these things.

The 7-megapixel TrueDepth camera that powers the Face ID feature brings Portrait mode to the front camera that will help iPhone X users take beautiful selfies. the is great for taking selfies wide color capture, auto image stabilization and precise exposure control, and brings Portrait mode to the front camera for stunning selfies with a depth-of-field effect.

The phone also features dual 12-megapixel camera on the rear with dual optical image stabilization. The camera system now comes with a new color filter, deeper pixels, and aperture of f/1.8 on the wide angle and f/2.4 on the telephoto camera for better photos and videos. All of this packed with A11 Bionic chip have helped Apple introduce the new Portrait Lighting feature that lets users select lighting effects for the pictures in real-time. Users can choose different lighting effects including Natural Light, Contour Light & Stage Light (as shown below) while taking the picture or even after it has been captured.

iPhone X just like iPhone 8 & iPhone 8 Plus is powered with wireless charging. Priced at AED 4,099 for the 64 GB model & AED 4,729 for the 256 GB model, pre-orders of iPhone X will start from October 27 and the phone will start shipping from November 3 onwards in the United Arab Emirates. It comes only in two colors: silver and space grey.
